Grahame Ewins is not your average executive coach.
With 20+ years leading complex, high-stakes transformations across the globe, Grahame has held senior leadership positions in some of the world’s largest financial institutions—including Societe Generale, ING Barings, Credit Suisse, BNP Paribas and National Australia Bank. From HK to Singapore to London to Luxembourg, he has successfully led and delivered 9-figure budgets of programs across technology, operations, investment, research, fund management, insurance, M&A, integrations and regulatory reform—commanding cross-border teams of hundreds and earning the trust of C-suite leaders across 20+ countries.
A deeply respected transformation strategist, Grahame has a rare ability to translate big-picture strategy into precise execution. He has led enterprise-wide change initiatives across infrastructure, risk and compliance, data and analytics, customer experience, and operational efficiency—often navigating matrixed environments with tens of thousands of employees. His calm, pragmatic leadership style has made him the go-to fixer during periods of volatility, uncertainty, and rapid change.
A life-threatening experience brought everything to a halt. Grahame found himself in hospital, with his wife and young son standing at the bed beside him.
He wasn’t ready to go yet.
He hadn’t done what he needed to do.
It was the moment that changed everything.
He left corporate life behind—and began a radical reinvention. He invested in his own growth, found mentors, built businesses, and created a life of alignment, impact, and autonomy.
Since then, Grahame has established a number of businesses, including:
• International import/export, distribution and wholesale across the Asia Pacific region
• International retail sales via bricks and mortar stores, consignment, referral, eCommerce and dropshipping. The product ranges included vehicles (watercraft, e-bikes and e-scooters), water sports products, and products for vehicles, homes and gardens
• Local and national services provision in the categories of watercraft rental, water sports club memberships, and handyman and landscaping services
He has been responsible for all aspects of these businesses, from sales, marketing, finance, logistics and operations to technology and customer service.
During Grahame’s finance and banking career, he held a number of global and regional roles which made him a member of various global leadership teams, during his time in Singapore, London, Luxembourg and Sydney. He enjoyed influencing global strategy, and the roles were rewarding beyond expectation in many ways. But the relentless multi-country work trips and the 11pm global leadership calls from Sydney sure took their toll!
Now, he still enjoys many of the aspects of his global responsibilities as a business owner, business partner, investor and coach, with the greater control he has built into these roles.
Grahame has lived in Australia, USA, HK, Singapore, London and Luxembourg. Since 1994 he has held regional and global responsibilities, in leadership and relationship management roles across a variety of cultures, languages and jurisdictions. Grahame always sought opportunities to spend extra time in each of the countries he’s served, taking every chance to get to know his team members and counterparts both in the office and outside the office. And he loves to share weird and wonderful stories from many corners of the world.
His career reads like a checklist of elite leadership: • Global, regional and local leadership positions in Hong Kong, SIngapore, London, Luxembourg and Sydney
• Director, Head and Manager-level roles in Technology, Program, Project, Process and Change Management across institutions with tens of thousands of employees
• COO of APAC Distribution, growing a business from a domestic startup to an international force
• Advisor, mentor, and transformation lead trusted by senior stakeholders in both corporate and entrepreneurial ventures
Grahame has led a variety of programs relating to business integration, separation, insourcing, outsourcing, business continuity, and software and hardware design and implementation programs, plus a lot more.
He has managed the setup, relocation, business continuity and closure of offices across Asia and Europe, including premises, infrastructure and technology components, and complex data, telephony and trading systems.
Grahame was the due diligence technology lead for the world’s first joint venture between a western Asset Manager (Credit Suisse Asset Management) and a Chinese national bank (ICBC) with over 100 million retail customers.
And he was the technology lead for a large number of regulatory and compliance programs in Finance and Banking in the UK and Australia.
Grahame has filled many roles which have required that he actively engage with local, state and federal governments, both in Australia and overseas.
His first five years of work experience were in the State Government of Tasmania’s Main Road, Construction and Roads and Transport departments.
In his various Finance and Banking roles he engaged with government agencies and regulators, such as ATO, ASIC and APRA in Australia, and their equivalents around the world.
Grahame’s own businesses have been subject to Australian state and federal government administration (as are all businesses), as well as industry-specific regulation, such as AMSA’s national maritime code, state government regulation such as Maritime services, ACMA, ACCC, and even engagement with councils around the country for his local services businesses.
During his time in corporate, when fulfilling his technology roles, Grahame became the expert formally and informally in the technologies he was managing, in the areas of networking, operating systems, help desk systems, workflow systems, content management systems and websites.
As a corporate leader, he undertook all the leadership training you’d expect, including both hard skills and soft skills. He championed ITIL and project management practices, as well as psychometric profiling, individual performance uplift and organisational continuous improvement.
Grahame has also invested six figures in his own personal and vocational development since establishing his own businesses, in the areas of business building, business growth, sales and marketing and a variety of technologies directly related to getting more out of his businesses or providing services to others. And of course, in Robert’s training, as well as complementary inner development.
Grahame believes that we all have a smash hit within us, but many of us never break through the barriers which have been holding us back from recognising our genius. He knows that we are all capable of truly exceptional creativity, insight and potential, but often we don’t know where to find the key.
And he knows that coaches and mentors like Robert and him are the secret to helping people find their key and unlock their true potential.
Grahame now enjoys capitalising upon his hard-earned experience, expertise and talents. He loves to help others navigate a path which may or may not mirror the path he’s taken, and in return to receive acknowledgement and reward for sharing the lessons he’s learned along the way.
Grahame currently resides on Sydney’s North Shore, near Chatswood with his wife and son.
When not growing his businesses, he enjoys socialising with friends, travelling, water sports, boating, fishing, off-roading, camping, gardening and DIY. Grahame also loves exploring new technologies and spending time with his son watching action movies.
Grahame has a unique combination of high-level corporate leadership expertise, entrepreneurial success, and deep coaching insight. He blends the strategic thinking and operational discipline honed over 25 years in global executive roles with the adaptability and innovation required to build and scale businesses across multiple industries. This rare mix enables him to guide clients through transformative change — not just in their careers or businesses, but in their lives as a whole.
